Pelatihan Karakter Kristen (PK2) Lawang
LPPM Universitas Ciputra (UC) Surabaya
Neutron Yogyakarta Malang
As the first phase of the five-year YKDE Scholarship Program, students undergo a one-year preparatory period at the Christian Character Training (PK2) in Lawang, East Java. During this phase, they receive foundational development in Spirituality, Education, and Character to ensure they share a strong and unified foundation before entering the subsequent stages of the program.
Students receive structured classes on foundational biblical truths, which are applied in daily life both individually and in community.
On weekends, students have the opportunity to visit the Brothers’ and Sisters’ Houses in Surabaya and Malang, where they connect with senior students currently pursuing their university studies. On Sundays, students attend worship services at churches in nearby cities, fostering spiritual growth and fellowship.
To prepare for the National Test-Based Selection (SNBT), students participate in academic tutoring provided by YKDE’s partner institutions.
They also receive personalized guidance in selecting their prospective universities and fields of study according to their individual strengths and interests. Complementary enrichment classes—such as music and English—are offered to broaden their competencies and enhance their overall skill set.
In collaboration with Zone 235 in Cikole, West Java, students undergo intensive character, mental resilience, and leadership training for a total of six weeks.
This training is conducted in two phases: four weeks at the beginning of the preparatory period and two weeks at its conclusion, ensuring holistic character formation before entering the next stage of the program.
During this four-year phase, students pursue their studies at leading universities across various cities and provinces in Indonesia. Throughout their higher education journey, they continue to receive holistic mentoring and guidance in the areas of Spirituality, Education, and Character, enabling them to complete this phase with strong academic achievement and personal growth.
Students reside in dormitories located near their respective campuses, arranged and supervised by YKDE.
The dormitory for male students is called the Brothers’ House, while the dormitory for female students is known as the Sisters’ House. In each residence, YKDE partners with dedicated mentors who provide guidance and support throughout the four-year university period.
Students are encouraged to consistently apply the life principles cultivated during their training at PK2 Lawang and Zone 235.
During the university phase, their growth is monitored through daily reflection journals, which also serve as part of YKDE’s evaluation in determining continued educational funding under the scholarship program. In addition, students participate in weekly counseling sessions with their assigned mentors to review their progress and assess the practical application of the three core pillars: Spirituality, Education, and Character.
The Training Phase is an optional opportunity available to YKDE scholarship recipients. Outstanding scholars are eligible to receive an additional scholarship in the form of advanced spiritual and character training at the Full-Time Training Indonesia, located in West Java and East Java. This program is international in scope and academically comparable to a master’s level (non-degree) program.
The purpose of this training is to cultivate a generation of young Christians who excel in faith, knowledge, and character.
